Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box costing $19.95 (US) a month which delivers assorted geekery and fandom goodies to its subscribers. It comes with an optional add-on of Lvl Up; giving further accessories for a separate payment.
Each month Loot Crate comes with a different theme. With the Batman VS Superman movie hitting theatres and leaving all the reviewers wondering if they can’t just get on team Wonder Woman instead March’s theme is Versus:

Star Trek ‘Mirror, Mirror’ T-shirt
Can I deny how awesome this tee is?
I’ve been loving the risks they’ve been taking with changing up the style of the t-shirts lately and this one is just as awesome. I love the lighter color…heathered oatmeal according to the magazine.
With summer coming up, the last thing you want to be doing is boiling to death in a dark t-shirt. I also love that it has a more artistic style. According to arist Juan Ortiz he took inspiration from boxing fight posters. Neat-o.

EXCLUSIVE Daredevil/Punisher Reversible Beanie
So like every person ever who’s currently watching and/or finished the second season of Netflix’s Daredevil I have instantly fallen head over heels in mad character love with The Punisher. Ironically thanks to Jon Bernthal, who you might remember as the most unlikeable character ever, Shane in Walking Dead’s early seasons.
So this Beanie had great timing. I was happy with a Daredevil beanie, but when I flipped it over…it went something like this:
So yeah, let’s just assume the Daredevil side is never seeing the light of day again.
But, dear readers, I have sad news to share with you. It turns out my hat had a hole in it and well…Loot Crate has always been really good at replacing faulty stuff. However, I have to say, the whole bottom part of my email where I told them I’d had faulty items multiple times and was worried about the quality dropping…they basically ignored.
And nothing drives me crazy like having companies ignore the legitimate concern I bring to them. This really lowered my view of Loot Crate and I wanna say watch this space because…honestly, if it keeps up, I might have to cancel.
Regardless, when the undamaged beanie makes its way here I will be punishing left, right and directly in the centre, you best be sure.
I was gonna put a picture of a dominatrix here, but I gave up trying to find a safe for work picture…

Exclusive Batman V Superman Dawn of Justice Mighty Wallet
What’s made of paper and actually an item that makes me loudly say ‘MEEEEEEH.’
I just really don’t care for the whole Tyvek wallet craze. If it costs as much as a real wallet and lasts a lot less longer and can’t be dumped in a pond without disintegrating…it’s just not a real wallet. In fact, it’s some sort of less-wallet. Like a wallet, but worse in every way.
You get my point. The design is ok, though the inside looks like they let a kid loose in photoshop with some grunge tools.
It’s the Jared Leto Joker of wallets. It’s probably not as bad as you think, you’re just…not sure you have a use for it.

EXCLUSIVE Alien Vs. Predator 4.5 Inch Vinyl Figures
As you can see, I got the Predator. This is another blind box offering, with a chance of getting Mr. Predator or Ms. Alien (just kidding, I have no idea the genders of each of them, although canon wise…we rarely see female aliens or predators from what I know.)
In my opinon, I got the crappier one. I’m actually a fan of alien, but must admit I’ve never seen Predator, alas. The figures are well-made and well-designed though, so it’s a pretty nice item for a fan of the franchises. I’m a bit put out that the alien figure gets a fun glow in the dark bit, but not the predator. Et, tu Loot Crate?

EXCLUSIVE Harley Quinn Comic Book
Loot Crate has a real problem with amping up one of their offerings to be something huge and then producing…this. It’s no Street Fighter self insertion comic, but it’s not exactly a Harley wearable or cool figurine like I was hoping for either.
I read it and frankly it reads like something you’d pick up at Free Comic Book Day, with far too much emphasis placed on where Harley is in canon right now, instead of just taking her out of the whole situation and giving us a good time. A big fat thumbs down for this crappy Harley exclusive.
Loot rating: One LORNA out of five!
As always, when receiving Loot Crate, subscribers are treated to some extra items. So here’s my ratings for this month’s box, badge and Loot Crate magazine:
Alien Vs. Predator Themed box:
Color wise, we’re right back to boring and theme wise, I’m still not a huge fan. The alien side is probably my favourite here and I do like that they have two different sides to it, but I’d still toss this one and not feel guilty.

Loot Crate Pin
How do I hate thee, let me count the ways.
For a start the colors choose are just terrible (and the variant more golden design while a cool idea is still ugly). You could have had a really cool design here with Predator and Alien grappling in battle, instead we got this. For shame, Loot Crate, for shame.
This month’s ‘pin DLC’ offering is another comic, this time Aliens Vs Predator: Three World War #1 for international looters.
If you’re in the US you get the gift of another sign-up with a free VUDU rental. Meeeeeeeh. Let’s hope next month’s is better!
Loot Crate Versus Magazine
Just when I felt like all was lost, in a huge show of Irony the LC magazine descended from the murky mess that was this month’s crate and punched me in the temple.
YOU WILL LOVE ME! It cried, with a number of informative articles, hilarious writing and a Where’s Wally (or somebody else in your country) spoof so amazing you will cry real tears of joy.
YOU WILL LOVE ME!
And I did.
So help me, I did.
Magazine and button Rating – Five LORNAS out of five
As I’ve come to expect, the t-shirt was good and there was one other amazing item (this month it was the sadly damaged beanie), but overall I just can’t shake the feeling that I’m starting to…fall out of love with Loot Crate.
With all the new crates they’re releasing I can’t help but feel that they care more about new subscribers than their loyal fans and with every crate that announces a big overarching theme and then lets me down…I become a little more cold inside.
Far too Alien Vs Predator themed for me this time. Still average value for money, but again that’s a totally personal rating.
What about you, did you love the AvP items? Harley’s comic blew your mind? Let me know in the comments below!
