Loot Crate is a monthly subscription box costing $19.95 (US) a month which delivers assorted geekery and fandom goodies to its subscribers. It comes with an optional add-on of Lvl Up; giving further accessories for a separate payment.
Each month Loot Crate comes with a different theme. With the Deadpool movie hitting theatre’s and leaving people reeling like a particularly powerful fart February’s theme is Dead:

Exclusive Deadpool Tacos T-Shirt
This is one bad-ass t-shirt. You know it, I know it and even Deadpool himself can sense it, wherever he is right now.
Digging the red, digging the dead, digging cause I’m an old timey prospector. This shirt is on par with my previous favourites for sure and it’s nice to see Loot Crate changing it up with a bright splash of red on there. Black shirts always feel a little bargain bin to me.

EXCLUSIVE Deadpool Q-Fig Figure (With Rare Variant for some)
Holy Granola. I’ve forgotten how to breathe. From the previous Batman figure to this, I’m really starting to think Q-Fig’s are better than Pop’s. The details, the position, the…everything. This is one frickin’ awesome figurine. The cherry on top of the Taco sundae is that some Looters actually got a rare X-Force edition variant of this figure in which Deadpool’s outfit is white and black and his belt buckle is an X-men symbol.

Exclusive The Walking Dead Big Head Figure Construction Set
If the Deadpool items are the triumph of this month’s package, this little guy here is the failure. It’s a 1 in 3 chance and I got the stinker. Honestly, if the quality’s the same, I’m not even sure the Daryl figure would have saved it for me. The sad thing about this is seeing the actual looking zombie figurine I was supposed to get (see packet in top picture) compared to the muddy texture mess I actually got. The zombie pictured on the packet looks pretty nice. Mine? Not so much. It’s hard to read, missing a lot of the details and I really hate how the foot just floats off of the stand.
I had to laugh when I saw the description as ‘easy to assemble’ in the magazine, cause…one arm went on easy, snap…on. The other parts? Took my husband putting on them. Yes, it is true that I have notoriously wimpy arms, but heck, I should be able to assemble my own darn figures.

EXCLUSIVE The Walking Dead Soap-On-A-Rope
I guess one thing I can say about this item is that it’s…unique and has a use. Yeah, I’m pretty speechless about this one. I’d almost rather they were chocolate…I mean call me a typical fat girl, but we could use more edible Daryl themed treats if you know what I mean.
Loot rating: TWO LORNAS out of five!
As always, when receiving Loot Crate, subscribers are treated to some extra items. So here’s my ratings for this month’s box, badge and Loot Crate magazine:
Walking Dead Zombie themed box
Along with the magazine and pin revamp from last month it seems Loot Crate might be amping up their boxes too. While I loved last month’s Space Invader theme, this is definitely my new fave. It’s nice to see the neon weird colors kicked to the curb and replaced with ‘blood of my enemies’ red. In my opinion everything should be colored black and red, but the sad truth is we’d probably end up looking less like Peacekeepers and more like Nazis. First world problems.

Loot Crate Pin
This little guy is a cute little Zombie Loot Crate and not a locker with a vent like I originally thought. How did it take me all this time to realise that Loot Crate’s logo has those little screws in the corners like…y’know a crate?
This month’s ‘pin DLC’ offering pleases me less. I’ve been seeing ‘free characters’ advertised all over for ‘The Walking Dead: Road to Survival‘ game so my guess is they’re doing a big advertising push. If you’re into that sort of thing, I guess a free Carl Grimes might float your zombie playing game boat, but for me it’s a meh.
Loot Crate Dead Magazine
There’s a number of cute articles in this, including an iZombie interview which I didn’t read as I’m planning to start watching it and want to avoid spoilers. My personal fave is their advice on surviving a Zombie apocalypse, but the Deadpool Taco recipe is definitely a great addition too!
Magazine and button Rating – FOUR LORNAS out of five
While the Deadpool items in this crate were absotively bananas, the promised Walking Dead items have a stale corpse whiff of ‘meh’ about them and brought this crate down. All items were exclusive, but this had the least amount of items of any crate I remember. So for me this is a solid middling crate. Value for money is a little on the low side, with the Deadpool figure being the saving grace.

February Loot Crate Score – THREE LORNAS out of five.
