Ipsy March 2016 Glam Bag (Floral Orange and Turquoise Bag)
I was a little disappointed when my ‘Sneak Peek’ showed I was getting the mostly turquoise version with orange lines, but instead this one arrived. Don’t tease me with a gorgeous blue and then throw this thing at me instead. Not cool.
I just really like turquoise, ok…plus it’s fun to say. Turquoise, turquoise, turquoise. The word has lost all meaning.
Anyway, over time this bag grew on me. So I guess it wasn’t that big of a deal.
Fleek-o-meter Rating: No Big Deal.
Sample Size: Roughly 1/2 of original size.
Approx cost: $8.00
This silky blush gives the perfect sheer flush on the apples of your cheeks. Its natural mineral powder formula reflects light, applies true to colour, is hydrating and feels lightweight on the skin. Each duo features two shades to be worn alone or layered.
- Natural-looking glow
- Apply with a fluffy soft brush
Not a great product for my skin tone/coloring. I am extremely pale (think vampire) with blue eyes and while this looked very pretty on the palette, even with lots of layering it could barely be seen on my skin. Just a subtle shimmer when the light hits…which is really not anything. I also wasn’t sure if they should be used together or use the lighter color to highlight. I tried both, but when it came right down to it, this color just wasn’t pigmented enough to show up on my skin. Might look lovely on darker skin tones though.
Just absolutely unsuitable for the undead.
Fleek-o-meter Rating: Fleekin’ crap
Sample Size: Unknown.
Approx cost: $18.00 (for full size)
Manna Kadar Cosmetics 3-in-1 “Fantasy” shadow can be used as a eyeshadow, blush, highlighter. This highly pigmented product is the perfect shade for any skin tone.
- Universal shade
- Highly pigmented and long-lasting
This is an absolutely beautiful color (although I wish Ipsy would stop sending me bronzish colors). On the eyelids it’s actually a shimmery pink bronze. It’s very pigmented and doesn’t need a ton of application, blends smoothly and looks lovely.
The one negative would be that the eyeshadow is actually a little crumbly.
Fleek-o-meter Rating: Fleek, yes!
Sample Size: Original size is 2.71 times bigger.
Approx cost: $10.33

Despite it’s amazing smell, this neither made any volume or left my hair touchably soft. If I could give one descriptor for what this product did to my hair, it would be this:
So thanks, Alterna Haircare. For killing the last shred of hope I had in labels. You monster.
Fleek-o-meter Rating: NOT TOUCHABLY SOFT
Sample Size: Full Size.
Approx cost: $12.00

- Matte black wooden handle and durable ferrules as used by professionals
It’s hard to really judge a make-up brush when it isn’t bad. It either does exactly what it’s supposed to, or everything goes horribly awry. So I guess the best I can say about this makeup eyeshadow brush is this. The hairs didn’t fall out. It applied powdered eyeshadow well and blended it evenly.
As for the rest, only time will tell. But as of this review I would say this is an average eyeshadow brush that works well, looks good and is comfortable to use.
Fleek-o-meter Rating: Above Average.

As an extremely fair skinned person (100% Scottish, remember previously mentioned vamp skin) I never thought I’d be able to pull off very red lipsticks. When I received this in my Ipsy bag I was more than a little nervous. But it just goes to show confidence is 100% of the battle, because it looks amazing on, despite my fair skin. This is very easy to apply and to fix mistakes and it dries with a lovely, non-sticky matte.
There’s just something about it that makes you feel super glam. The consistency is super nice and goes on smooth, dries smooth and lasts reasonably well even when eating and drinking. This has quickly become one of my go-to shades.
I am absolutely in love. I’ve heard it compared to Kat Von D’s lipsticks (very popular amongst beauty bloggers) but on a budget.
Fleek-o-meter Rating: Have my lipstick babies!
March’s bag was another rollercoaster ride, but one thing I have to say overall is that the value was pretty amazing. Large sizes samples or full sized products and the bag was worth far more than I pay this month, so I’m happy. While I may not have loved every product, I had a blast trying them all and got a great variety of items.
Star of the Bag: NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick
