February 2016 Glam Bag (Pixel Effect Email Bag)
Even though I was a little disappointed when it arrived to find it wasn’t beaded like I thought (though how gorgeous would that be?) it’s still to date the most beautiful Glam bag I’ve received. I can appreciate that Ipsy saves money on the bags to give us more goodies inside!
Fleek-o-meter Rating: On Fleek! (Yes, I thought it’d be fun to ironically use popular slang ^_^)
Paula Dorf Baby Eyes Enhancer (Sample Size)
Sample Size: 1/20th of original size.
Approx cost: $1.00
Soft, creamy eye-enhancing pencil with Vitamin E for smooth application that won’t drag. Inspired by the beautiful baby eyes of Paula’s nephew, this baby-toned pencil brightens the lower rim of the eye.
I know that white eyeliner is usually used around the eyes and specifically on the waterline to make your eyes look bigger, but I hate lining the waterline as it’s very irritating to the eyes. Nevertheless I gave this a try. The pigment was lovely and went on very bright, but the pencil was far too crumbly. Half the point collapsed upon first touch, leaving me feeling like I’d be rather annoying if I’d paid money instead of receiving it in my Ipsy bag. I did like the color however, it when used correctly it can make a nice pop of brightness. Check it out just below my lower waterline in the picture.
Fleek-o-meter Rating: Fleekishly average.

Absolutely adored how this nail coat looked. I love that it went on easy and left a nice, classy shine. However, that’s where the love affair ended.
After about two days of wearing this, our romance came to an abrupt close when I noticed my nails were starting to flake. My nails have never flaked before and always been extremely healthy. It was extremely disturbing and at that point I removed it and haven’t used it since.
This doesn’t seem to be a problem that everyone encounters as I’ve seen plenty of reviews of this product. For me, it simply didn’t work with my nails and almost damaged them worse. I would definitely advise care and close attention if you decide to use this one.
Fleek-o-meter Rating: Fleek, no!
Sample Size: Original size is 11.8 times bigger

A luxurious Hand & Body Lotion enriched with Macadamia and Soybean Oils, Shea Butter and Vitamin E that leaves skin feeling supple. Sweet almond extract and argan oil deeply moisturizes and leaves skin delicately scented.
- Free from mineral oils, parabens, synthetic dyes and sulphates
- This product is not tested on animals
Body lotion wise, this does a good job, but I was so sad about the scent. Smells sooooo amazing in the bottle. I was delighted by the vanilla, candy-like aroma, even though vanilla normally gives me a headache.
However, once on the hands the vanilla is barely there and it smells kind of weird. I’ve never seen Argan oil used anywhere but the hair before, so maybe it’s that.
It does leave the skin soft though, as a body lotion I can’t really fault it. For personal preference on the scent, just really not my cup of tea. I wish it smelled the same on the skin as in the bottle, but I tried it on multiple people (no I didn’t go around lotioning up strangers, you perverts!) and it never seemed to retain that candy smell. Alas.
Fleek-o-meter Rating: Comme Fleek, comme ça

I really enjoyed this one! I was a bit confused at first as it’s described as a lip pencil and I thought…liner, but the lead is very fat and I quickly realised it’s more like a lip crayon. The consistency is really nice and creamy and it does dry a bit after it’s applied.
It’s not a great stayer, like many lip crayons, but the color is nice and bright and it’s easy to apply! Definitely at least a temporary member of my lipstick bag, I just wish it had more staying power. However, it’s a great little lip color if you’re trying to keep your lips a little more hydrated and it absorbs nicely throughout the day without leaving awkward lines on the lip where it remains.
Fleek-o-meter Rating: Fleeking it’s way downtown!

The Power of a Primer. The Luxury of a Face Oil.
Fall in love with your skin — before you put on makeup — with the first ever primer specially formulated in a lightweight, lustrous oil. This fast-absorbing hero blend of 15 essential and lipid-rich plant oils penetrate instantly to moisturize your face for seamless foundation application with a dewy, youthful finish. In fact, you might think twice before you reach for your makeup.
I’ve heard many beauty bloggers praise this…like a lot, so it was a huge disappointment for me personally. In the interest of honesty you should remember two facts. 1. I never used this except before makeup. In my opinion primers are for priming foundation, for making my skin better over time I have lotions and moisturisers. Fact 2. I’m quickly learning that I detest oils. I always feel like my face is left greasy and it never quite absorbs and I just really don’t like the feeling of them on my face.
However, even putting aside those two facts I still feel like this didn’t really make any difference. My foundation looked about as smooth as it normally did…and lasted just as long. If any of you out there are fans of this, fill me in; what am I missing?
Fleek-o-meter Rating: Fleeking bad.
So that was February’s review. While I’m already working on March’s (running a little late) I’m definitely feeling the pinch from Pretty in #ipsypink. As a big fan of pink, this bag should have been my jam. Instead I feel like I got a lot of smaller samples, none of which I particularly liked. Still, it was fun to try all of the products even if they weren’t my favourite and while I felt there was less value for money this time, Ipsy is so cheap it’s hard to go below what you pay. I’m definitely going to keep my subscription going for now.
