As a product tester I occasionally receive products at a discount in exchange for an impartial, unbiased review. Mostly, these don’t require me to post to my blog and that’s how I like it. Occasionally I will take on one that requires a post here, but it always leaves me a little nervous.
What if I don’t like it? Well, nervous or no, I consider it a point of pride to be totally honest when testing and reviewing a product. So the good news is, with me, you know what you’re getting.
But what exactly was I getting when I tested ‘I*Light Organic Advanced Brightening & Line Smoothing Eye Treatment’ by Sweetsations Therapy?
Well, as it turns out, a darn good product that I can continue to use.
Not to put too fine a point on it, but when I started using it, I was like this:
and after two weeks, I was all:
Because I could tell something was different and I was pretty sure it was the wrinkles, but then I started to second guess myself. Good thing I have photographic evidence! Being the clever clogs that I am, I decided to take a photo before and then after, just so I was sure I was valid in my assumptions that this strange lotion did in fact banish wrinkles. Check out the results:
Now, even though I was having a bad skin day (every day since I hit puberty) I still think it looks a lot better in the second picture!
I*Light Organic Advanced Brightening & Line Smoothing Eye Treatment also claims to help with congestion. Not sure if this is what they mean, but I always have congestion around my eyes. Like when I hold my nose and blow, It feels painful there. Usually I get like that three to five times a week. Yet for these last two weeks I’ve only been like that twice.
Consider me sold. Sign me up for whatever crazy ingredients are in this stuff. Oh, what’s that? It’s all natural? HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE.
Maybe I’m overselling this stuff, but I really, really love it. Here’s an excerpt from the review I posted on Amazon:
“To me this product is the real deal. It’s not a magic wand, your lines won’t vanish instantly, but there is a marked and visible difference.
It’s super easy to apply and absorbs very quickly. You can also choose to apply with your finger or the applicator. I prefer the applicator as it means I don’t have to wash my hands again after application.
Protip: When appying, hold the tube and applicator horizontal (sideways) and rub gently in a horizontal line. If you apply it with the tube vertical, the ends of the applicator get gunked up and I thought this was a flaw with the packaging until I turned it sideways and realised it works perfectly that way.
The only downside to this product is the smell, which I’m not a fan of. I’ve been scent sensitive for some time though and products rarely please me when it comes to scent. Thankfully though, the smell of this doesn’t linger and once on your face, can’t even be smelt anymore. Hallelujah!
The biggest pro of this cream is that apart from being all natural, it’s specifically designed to be used around eyes. So many beauty products can’t be used near the eyes and as I just turned 30, I only have fine lines around my eyes. For ages, I’d given up on treating them, so I’m thrilled to find a product that works.”
Rating: Five Lornas out of Five!
